Our Philosophy

Ancient practice,
living tradition

TIMNAS4D was born from a deep respect for the healing traditions of the Malay Archipelago — a region where breathwork, movement, and plant medicine have long been part of daily life. We bring that lineage to New York City, without diluting it.

Classes grounded in Southeast Asian pranayama traditions, not trends

A space designed to feel like entering a different world — unhurried, intentional, warm

Rooted in community, open to all bodies and backgrounds

Ritual over routine — we practice with intention, not just instruction

The Practice

Find your path

Every class carries the DNA of Southeast Asian movement philosophy — mindful, grounded, transformative.

Alam Flow
All levels

A fluid sequence inspired by the natural rhythms of the Malay forest — slow, organic, deeply restorative. Move the way water moves through roots.

Nafas means breath. This intensive pranayama class is drawn from Malay healing traditions — clearing, grounding, and rebuilding from the inside out.

Who We Are

The teachers

Our instructors are practitioners first. Each carries a lineage — trained in Southeast Asia, living in New York.

SR
Suria Razali
Founder · Alam Flow & Nafas Dalam

Born in Kuala Lumpur, trained in Bali and Kerala. 14 years of practice, 8 years of teaching. Suria built TIMNAS4D around one question: what would yoga feel like if it never left the archipelago?

FA
Faris Amin
Silat Gerak & Tanah Kuat

A third-generation Silat practitioner and certified yoga instructor. Faris weaves Malay martial philosophy into every movement class — discipline without rigidity, strength with grace.

NH
Nadia Hassan
Malam Tenang & Jamu Retreat

An herbalist and sound healer trained in Kelantan's traditional healing arts. Nadia leads our evening and retreat programs, guiding practitioners through ritual as much as posture.

"The body knows what the mind forgets. We come to the mat not to perform, but to remember."
