Join Angela and Stephanie at Good Commons in picturesque southern Vermont. The beauty of the changing leaves and the crispness of lake air encourage us to tap into the natural transformative energy of autumn with a strong practice of twists and backbends.
While essential to a healthy spine and deep centering, twists and backbends can be some of the tougher yoga postures in which to achieve the balance of sukha and sthira (ease and strength).
Our yoga practices focus on:
• Freeing the nexus of the middle back from the shoulders, to relieve pressure and develop stability in the lower regions of the spine;
• Building the strength of the abdominal wall, to support a healthy spine;
• Incorporating praynayama techniques to free stickiness in the diaphragm;
• Interweaving the impermanent nature of change into the chambers of the heart.
Good Commons is a stunningly restored country store/house nestled at the foothills of Killington and the lakes of Okemo Valley. Tesha Bush, its visionary owner, restored Good Commons to reflect the beauty of its original architecture, while incorporating modern amenities (including WiFi). It is now a lively hub for yoga, arts, food, and ski retreats.
After our three-hour morning yoga practice, we’ll enjoy a hearty, healthy brunch made with ingredients sourced at local farms. Take the afternoon to stroll and shop in charming Plymouth, sit by the fire or hot tub, read or nap, tour local wineries or farms (or Ben & Jerry’s!), or take a hike along the lake. We’ll come back together for a 90-minute twilight yoga class before dinner with local wine pairings. Special dietary needs can be accommodated upon request.

This is a communal sleeping loft at the top floor of the building.

There are five bedrooms available if you’d like more privacy or are traveling with your beloved/friends.

Traveling to/from Good Commons
Round-trip transportation on the eco-friendly Good Commons bus is available for $125/total. Snacks and beverages provided. Depart at Mala Yoga 1 pm on Thursday, October 21st and return by 7 pm on Sunday, October 24th. It is an approximately five-hour ride.

A $150 deposit reserves your spot and if received by Spet 6th, gets you a $25 discount on the bus fare.
