Jyl Kutsche

Published on April 18th, 2009

To Jyl, yoga is both the glue that helps to hold life together & a tool that can help break down walls. By linking poses together in short sequences, her classes combine flow with stillness, with an emphasis on detail and alignment. Jyl draws from her training in Prajna, Iyengar, Anusara & Ashtanga styles of yoga, in hopes of encouraging students to remain curious, awake and self-aware in their practice, and to look at their body as an instrument that they can use to tap into their own vast reservoirs of power & intuition. Yoga has helped her to look at her body, and in turn every body, with compassion and gentleness; a vehicle that if listened to, and treated with patience, kindness and trust, allows one to connect with feelings of pure potential and joy. She is grateful to all the amazing teachers who have come into her life, and is currently working towards a 500 hour certification with Tias Little. She is also in the process of completing a Social Action Teacher Training certification with Jill Satterfield and is honored to be involved with Bent on Learning, a program that brings yoga and meditation to students in the NYC public school system.
