Body in Balance: Feb 20th
Functional Movement Analysis and Corrective Strategies
“Better Movement For A Better Yoga Practice.”
with: Dan Trink
when: Saturday, February, 20th 4- 6pm
cost: $60.00/space limited
Lifting your toddler from the floor. Walking up a flight of stairs. Reaching for a vase on the top shelf. Swinging a tennis racket. These are all examples of functional movements — the physical actions that allow you to complete your daily activities.
But what happens when you don’t perform these movements correctly? When you have a postural or strength imbalance or a limited range of motion? At best you end up not being able to complete the task. And at worst you find yourself with chronic pain or injury.
The Functional Movement Analysis is designed to assess your movement patterns and discover which joints and muscle groups your imbalances may generate from. Attendees will perform a series of basic movement patterns which will be analyzed. They will then be given basic corrective strategies in an effort to help alleviate these dysfunctional patterns.
In order to allow thorough analysis, this workshop is limited to 6 attendees. Please wear clothing that allows for free movement, such as workout or yoga clothing.
